Education

November 30th, 2009

RISE education is designed for newly arrived refugees, and hopes to provide information about basic understanding and entitlements in Australia. This project provides help for young refugee students who are struggling with their studies. Some community organizations currently offer similar programs however these are not accessible after school hours.

RISE is proposing a tutoring and mentoring program which will operate after hours, encouraging and helping students to achieve success in their studies. The project will help secure early employment and perform the daily tasks necessary for their personal and family’s well-being.

RISE tutors and volunteers will work closely with newly arrive refuges and students to identify their needs and provide the services accordingly. This flexible educational project will give an open opportunity for isolated young refugees to participate and volunteers to guide them into right educational direction as needed. The program will be conduct after school hours.
