Art Works

Frank Mwamba started with art at a very early age, as early as three. Influenced by his dad, art became a hobby at an early stage. Frank born in Congo and raised in South Africa, his surrounding always had an influence on own works. Frank and his brothers would draw all day long as kids, inspired by TV shows, cartoons, movies and comic books that we liked.

At the age of nine he had his own art folio with artworks and comic strips he created, he also had home-made comic books which he wrote and illustrated. And as time went by, his folio grew bigger and bigger. After learning of art opportunities, Frank entered junior art competitions and began creating artworks for profit for friends in primary school.

Early before Frank began painting and was very creative with grey lead, color pencils and pastels. It was an adventure to master these tools and discover different new techniques. At that time he also used markers, fine liners and charcoal. Later after discovering the paint technique he began considering the quality of the tools he used. This made him versatile when it came to art tools. “Behind my art works there are characters which you come across in your daily life”

In 2004 Frank’s family moved to Australia. In a career point of view it was time for ‘great opportunity’ and he did very well in high school; dominated all the art related subjects. In 2008 he was featured in an exhibition won first prize. After this great event he was inspired to enter the professional art industry. So had his works featured in galleries and exhibitions around Australia and was then developed his style of art and became active in both digital and traditional art.

Early in 2009 published his first book, ‘STREETWISE LEAGUE’ a comic book based on street soccer; by a publisher in New Zealand. Frank will be exhibiting his art works through RISE and launch his works soon.
